In 1984, a group of six couples in St. Charles, Illinois, met regularly for Bible study. They began talking about starting a church. They wanted to launch a church that would appeal to their friends and neighbors who were missing out on a relationship with Jesus Christ. They hired a young pastor and began services on December 16, 1984, in a rented movie theater.
Our church is passionate about loving God and loving people. This passion motivates us to be about the mission Jesus gave all of his followers. We put it like this:
Our mission is to make
passionate disciples of Jesus Christ
who are belonging, growing,
serving and reaching.
Every day, we have the awesome privilege of watching God move in the lives of people. We are seeing marriages and relationships restored. Addictions overcome. And lives changed in big and small ways because of the power of God’s Good News found in Jesus.
Since then, Christ Community Church has grown to over 5,000 weekend attendees meeting on four different campuses in communities throughout the western suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. These are: the Streamwood Bartlett Campus, Blackberry Creek Campus in Aurora, DeKalb Campus, and our original campus in St. Charles.
